PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

High-carbon silicon is a by-product of the production of silicon metal or ferrosilicon. During melting, due to the poor electrode heating effect, the furnace bottom can not reach the temperature of melting silicon metal or ferrosilicon, resulting in insufficient chemical reaction between silicon dioxide and carbon at the bottom of the furnace. After a long period of accumulation, a thick layer of alloy sediment is produced at the bottom of the furnace, which is high carbon silicon. High carbon silicon is rich in silicon, but the carbon content is higher, and the price is lower than silicon metal, ferrosilicon. In some metallurgical operations with lower carbon requirements, high-carbon silicon can be used instead of ferrosilicon and silicon metal, thus greatly reducing production costs.

High carbon silicon is a new alloy used in converter. It is rich in silicon, but relatively high in carbon. At present, it is mainly used in the field of steelmaking and casting. High-carbon silicon is highly economical. In steelmaking can replace ferrosilicon, silicon carbide and other charges, but the price is relatively low. Common high carbon silicon mainly has natural block, standard block, granular, powder form.

High carbon silicon is a cost-effective compound deoxidizer. It is convenient to use, and does not require a large amount of investment and strict process requirements as off-furnace refining. Moreover, it has good deoxidation performance and can replace such deoxidizer as ferrosilicon alloy.
